The Roswell City Council voted during their meeting on Monday, July 27, 2026, to adopt the City’s 2045 Comprehensive Plan, establishing a long-range vision that will guide Roswell’s growth, redevelopment, transportation, housing, economic development, parks, environmental stewardship, and community character through 2045.
The adopted 2045 Comprehensive Plan builds upon Roswell’s long-range planning efforts by incorporating elements of the City’s adopted 2040 Comprehensive Plan that continue to reflect the community’s vision and priorities, while introducing updated goals, strategies, and recommendations shaped by current data, extensive public engagement, and City Council direction. The result is a forward-looking plan that honors Roswell’s established values while preparing the community for the opportunities and challenges of the next two decades.
“The adoption of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan is an important milestone for our community,” said Mayor Mary Robichaux. “This plan provides a thoughtful framework for preserving what residents value most about Roswell while preparing our city for future opportunities and challenges. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and help shape this vision.”
The Comprehensive Plan serves as Roswell’s official policy guide for future land use and development decisions while identifying priorities that will help preserve the city’s unique character, enhance quality of life, support economic vitality, and encourage thoughtful, sustainable growth.
Developed through an extensive public engagement process, the plan incorporates feedback gathered from residents, business owners, community stakeholders, City boards and commissions, and elected officials through public meetings, online surveys, stakeholder discussions, and other outreach opportunities.
Highlights of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan include:
- A shared vision for Roswell’s future growth and development.
- Strategies to preserve neighborhood character while supporting appropriate redevelopment.
- Recommendations to improve transportation, mobility, and connectivity.
- Policies that support housing choices, economic vitality, and community investment.
- Goals for parks, recreation, environmental stewardship, and resilience.
- Implementation strategies to help guide future planning initiatives and capital investments.
Required by the State of Georgia, the Comprehensive Plan serves as the City’s long-range policy framework and helps guide future planning, infrastructure investments, and land use decisions. While the plan establishes Roswell’s vision and strategic direction, future development proposals will continue to be reviewed through the City’s established public hearing and approval processes.
The adopted 2045 Comprehensive Plan will be available on the City’s website in the coming days. For more information, visit www.RoswellGov.com/CompPlan.
