If you’ve driven past Roswell’s downtown parking deck construction site lately, you’ve probably noticed a lot of digging! What you’re seeing is the installation of a large underground stormwater detention facility.
Once complete, this hidden system will help manage runoff not only for the new parking deck, but also for the broader Green Street Activation Project, which will convert Green Street to a one-way southbound road, add brick-paved multi-use trail, and transform Plum Tree Street into a pedestrian connection to Canton Street.
This underground detention facility is important step forward in keeping Roswell prepared for the future, even though most people will never see it once the deck is finished.
