The City of Roswell welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Czech Republic on March 24, 2024, for a diplomatic and economic development meeting aimed at fostering international business ties, advancing transportation innovation, and attracting foreign investment.

The meeting was held at Roswell City Hall and focused on key topics such as smart mobility, clean transportation, infrastructure modernization, and public-private partnerships. The Czech delegation—which included Minister of Transport Martin Kupka, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and industry leaders in smart mobility and infrastructure—met with Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson, Senator Brandon Beach, GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry, representatives from MARTA, and local business leaders.

“The City of Roswell was pleased to host this important conversation between Georgia leaders and our colleagues from the Czech Republic. Roswell is committed to expanding its global footprint and creating opportunities for international investment,” said Mayor Kurt Wilson. “By strengthening our relationship with the Czech Republic, we are opening doors for innovation, business expansion, and infrastructure advancements that will benefit both our local economy and our international partners.”

The March 24 meeting was a direct result of Roswell’s trade mission to the Czech Republic in October 2024, during which early-stage discussions highlighted the potential for economic development partnerships between Czech companies and the City of Roswell in areas such as intelligent transportation systems and clean energy. Following Roswell’s successful visit, PBS Aerospace, a major manufacturer of world-class small turbojet engines based in the Czech Republic, made an announcement in February 2025 that it would invest up to $20 million to establish its North American headquarters, manufacturing, and research and development (R & D) operations in Roswell.

During the March 24 meeting, Czech industry leaders shared insights on cutting-edge transportation technologies, while Roswell officials highlighted the City’s economic strengths and commitment to fostering an environment conducive to investment from international partners.

“This year we are bringing to the USA top Czech technology, services, and companies that want to establish themselves in high value-added industries. Smart mobility, digitalization, AI, technology services, innovative solutions in automotive or clean mobility or remote control systems, and protection against cyber attacks are the topics of the joint working trip with a delegation of entrepreneurs and representatives of the academic sphere. I believe that our efforts and support create a solid springboard or platform for all companies and research teams that want to establish themselves in the United States,” said Transport Minister Martin Kupka.

The meeting laid the groundwork for future trade missions, academic collaborations, and public-private partnerships between Roswell and Czech companies in transportation, technology, and energy sectors.

As Roswell continues to position itself as a hub for international business and innovation, the City looks forward to building on this successful engagement with the Czech Republic and exploring new opportunities for global economic collaboration.
