The City of Roswell hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a new multi-sport turf field at Roswell Area Park on February 18, 2025. The event marked the completion of yet another transformative project funded by Roswell’s Bond Program, which was overwhelmingly approved by voters in November 2022. The new turf field—Multi-Sport Field #1 (MS-1) at Roswell Area Park—will provide the best combination of durability and safety over the next decade.

The MS-1 project is the third upgraded turf field at Roswell Area Park, with MS-2 and MS-3 having been completed in 2024. The project involved the replacement of the existing turf field, which was originally converted from grass to turf in 2013 but had reached the end of its useful life. The turf is the Classic HD product from FieldTurf—the same turf that has been installed on MS-2 and MS-3, as well as at East Roswell Park and Groveway Community Park—and maximizes durability, safety, and aesthetics.

MS-1 also received new fencing and netting with bigger poles and stronger mesh, as well as brand new goal posts. In addition, it was outfitted with a new lines package, allowing the Recreation and Parks Department to expand its capacity for games and practices at Roswell Area Park.

The total cost for all three new turf fields was approximately $2.1 million, funded entirely by the City of Roswell’s Bond Program ($718,318 for MS-1, $756,970 for MS-2, and $644,900 for MS-3).
