New project boards along Riverside Road will provide residents and visitors with a look at the future of Roswell several current and forthcoming City projects that will improve and enhance Roswell’s popular river corridor.

Featuring a map and project descriptions, the boards provide a comprehensive visual overview of several adjacent and interconnected projects on Riverside Road, including park and recreation enhancements and transportation improvements to the roadway itself.

Three Riverside Road Projects boards (all with the same information) have been placed along the corridor, parallel to the Roswell Riverwalk Trail, from Don White Memorial Park (entrance at 925-B Riverside Road) to Riverside Park.


Project Highlights

Riverside Road
The Riverside Road Complete Street improvement project will provide safety and operational improvements along Riverside Road from Riviera Road to Old Alabama Road. The project will address pedestrian, bicyclist, and motorist safety by reducing speeds, providing adequate gaps for turning traffic, expanding pedestrian access and improving bicycle mobility.

  • Cost: Approx. $8.5 million

Ace Sand (Phases I and II)
Ace Sand is the first project of the River Parks Master Plan, which seeks to transform the City’s riverfront property into a unified first-class river park system. Completed in two phases, the project will enhance access and connectivity and add unique amenities for adults and children that will activate and beautify the park. Phase I of the park consists of a Fitness Loop Trail, providing connectivity through the park from Don White Park towards Riverside Park, with several fitness pods along the trail. Phase II consists of a Children’s Stormwater Garden, which simultaneously helps to control runoff while providing a hands-on learn-and-play experience.

Don White Memorial Park
This project will expand and enhance recreational amenities while also incorporating creative solutions to handle stormwater management in the park. The project will realign and reroute drives and trails to best accommodate visitors, including new and improved ADA access points throughout the park. Along with connectivity, this project focuses on streambank stabilization, public river access, and improved circulation throughout the park.

Riverside Park
Improvements to Riverside Park will provide unique gathering spaces and improve and expand the park’s capacity to host a variety of performances and special events. Enhancements will include green infrastructure elements like bio-retention basins, native plantings, sculptures made from natural elements, and engaging nature play areas. Updates and improvements to existing infrastructure—including the stage, sprayground, playgrounds, and shelters—will provide an overall improved park experience.
