Mayor and Council – Regular Meeting Recap

Monday, June 8, 2026

Roswell’s Mayor and City Council convened for their first regular meeting of June on Monday evening. View the full agenda. Agenda item numbers below correspond to items as listed on the official agenda.

The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda (Consent Agenda, Items 1-4), which included a variety of action items:

  • Minutes of the May 26, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting
  • A resolution for the City to accept right-of-way along Woodstock Road for a streetscape and sidewalk improvement project along the 88 Woodstock Road parcel
  • A resolution for the City to accept right-of-way along Norcross Street for a streetscape and sidewalk improvement project along the 100 Norcross Street parcel
  • Accepting a $15,000 grant from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) for Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time (BOOST)

Regular Agenda

The lone item on the regular agenda (Regular Agenda, Item 1) was deferred to the June 22 meeting. That item asks for approval of a modification of zoning conditions with concurrent variances for the civic and retail development known as Bowen & 92 located at 1340 Woodstock Road.

City Attorney’s Report

Finally, Council heard and voted in favor of a pair of business items from the City Attorney. The first (Regular Agenda, Items 2-3) approved a resolution authorizing the City of Roswell to participate in an Amicus brief supporting the City of Milton in a court case that is going through appeals. That case, Chang v. City of Milton, stems from a fatal 2016 motor vehicle accident. Roswell, the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and dozens of other cities have taken an interest in the case as it deals with municipal tort liability in the state of Georgia.

The other item in the City Attorney’s Report was to approve a recommendation to go into Closure at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, ahead of their regular scheduled meeting. This would be for the purpose of discussing personnel, litigation and/or real estate.

Coming Up

Next up for the Mayor and Council will be a regular Council meeting on Monday, June 22. That meeting starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall (38 Hill Street).
