Mayor Kurt Wilson is joined by Brian Watson, Director of Environmental/Public Works, at the site of the Ace Sand Phase I project on Riverside Road. This is the first project of the River Parks Master Plan, which will redefine Roswell’s riverscape. When Ace Sand Phase I is complete—in fall 2024—the park will feature a multi-use trail, boardwalk, pedestrian trails, and a series of adult fitness facilities. But it will also incorporate creative and innovative features to manage storm and flood waters and to stabilize the riverbank.

Roswell residents can expect more than 40 city roads to be resurfaced or rejuvenated this summer. At their June 10 meeting, the City Council approved a contract with Summit Construction and Development to repave or rejuvenate 46 roads – totaling almost 12 miles – within the City of Roswell. Some of the key roads to be resurfaced are portions of Canton St., Crabapple Road, Scott Road, and Old Alabama Road. The celebration will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Roswell Area Park (10495 Woodstock Road) starting at 6:00 PM. Juneteenth: Our Freedom Exhibit Kicking off the celebration is a collaboration with African American for the Arts (AAFTA) with ‘Juneteenth: Our Freedom Exhibit’, an artistic reflection of the liberation Juneteenth has afforded African Americans to be artists.
