On April 16, 2024, the City of Roswell hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of renovations at this magnificent cornerstone of the historic district. Town Square was built in 1839 as part of the original town design and has become a popular community gathering spot and site of a variety of events and festivals over the years.

Renovations included variety of hardscape repairs and enhancements:

    • Brick pavers have been repaired and regrouted; granite curbing has been fixed; an unsafe stairway that connected to Hwy. 9 has been eliminated; and a new section of fence has been added.
    • Renovations to the fountain include a new salt water pump system, new liner, drain, and LED lighting that allows the City to illuminate the fountain in a variety of colors to mark different celebrations.
    • The bandstand was updated with a fresh coat of paint.
    • Twenty-two (22) new light poles, featuring historical design suited to Town Square and approved by the Roswell Historical Preservation Commission, were installed. In addition, new in-ground memorial lights were added to illuminate flags and the memorial at the south end of the park.
    • New Victor Stanley furniture has been installed, including six benches, six sets of tables and chairs, and five combination trash/recycle receptacles.
    • Greenspace throughout the park also features new sod and landscaping.

The total cost for the project was $582,230.98, which was paid using one-time capital funding approved in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 City of Roswell Budget.
